Be diligent in that which benefits you …

In the name of Allah, all praise is due to He, The One. I send peace and blessings upon his final messenger (Al-Mustafa), and upon his family, companions, and those that followed him in righteousness until The Day of Resurrection (Youm Al-Qiyaamah). To proceed:

On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (radiAllahu ‘anhu — may Allah be please with him) who said, “The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, ‘The strong believer is better and more beloved to Allah than the weak believe, and in each is good. Be diligent in those things that benefit you, seek the aid of Allah, and don’t tire. And if something befalls you then don’t say, ‘If only I had done this’ or ‘[if] it was this and that’. Rather say, ‘It is what Allah willed and what He wants happens’. For verily [the word] ‘if’ opens [the door for] the actions of Shaytan.” [Muslim]

This hadeeth comprises many great principles [and] concise words. From them: Affirmation [that] love is an attributes of Allah. And it [the hadeeth] is associated with the things He [subhaanahu wa ta’ala — glory be to Him] loves and whoever upholds it. It also proves that it [His love] is associated with his His wants and wills. As well as preference, because His love for the strong believer is greater than his love for the weak believer.
