REMINDER!!! Fasting the 9th of Dhu’l-Hijjah

In the name of Allah, all praise is due to He, The One. I send peace and blessings upon his final messenger (Al-Mustafa), and upon his family, companions, and those that followed him in righteousness until The Day of Resurrection (Youm Al-Qiyaamah). To proceed:

Abu Qatadah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported: The Messenger of Allah, sallaahu alayhi wasallam, was asked about the observance of Saum (fasting) on the day of ‘Arafah. He said, “It is an expiation for the sins of the preceding year and the current year.” [Muslim]

Hunaydah ibn Khaalid reported from his wife that some of the wives of the Prophet said: “The Prophet, sallaahu alayhi wasallam, used to fast on the ninth of Dhu’l-Hijjah, on the day of ‘Aashooraa’, on three days of each month, and on the first two Mondays and Thursdays of each month.” [Nisa’e]

The ninth of Dhu’l-Hijjah — The Day of Arafah — is going to be on Saturday, November 5th Insha Allah. Mark you calendars and set your alarm clocks now so that you will get up to eat suhoor and get this great reward Insha Allah. 😀
