From the Miracles of the Prophet ﷺ.

In the name of Allaah, the All-Wise, Ever Capable. May peace and salutations be upon the best of the prophets and messengers, our prophet Muhammad, his family, companions and all those who follow them in goodness until the day of Judgement. As for what proceeds;

From the Miralcles of the Prophet, may peace and blessings be upon him, by Sheikh Muhammad ibn Saalih al-‘Uthaymeen, may Allaah have mercy upon him:

“…And here we have the messenger and close companion of Allaah, Muhammad, peace be upon him, where many miracles occured for him that showed his truthfulness as a prophet and messenger. From them:

  • The people of Makkah sought from him to show them a sign, so he showed them the splitting of the moon in two halfs until they could see Mount Hira between it.
  • When there would be a drought he would pray to Allaah for rain and he wouldn’t descend from the pulpit until every waterspout or gutter woud be filled. Anas, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: “The Messenger, peace be upon him, raised his hands to Allaah seeking rain and at the time we did not see any clouds in the sky. I swear by the One whom my soul is in His hand(s), he did not put his hands down until the clouds gathered resmbling mountains. He didn’t descend from the pulpit until we saw the rain water dripping from his beard, peace and blessings be upon him.

So it rained for an entire week, from that friday untill the next friday. Then that same beduion or someone different stood up and said: “O Messeneger of Allaah, the building are being destroyerd and money is being wasted so supplicate to Allaah for us.” So the Messeneger, peace be upon him, said: “O Allaah (make it rain) around us and not on us.”[1] And he didn’t point in a direction of the sky except that it began to rain in that place until Al- Medinah became like a bay and the rain was all around it.”

  • The people came to the Prophet, peace be upon him, very thristy on the day of Hudaybiyyah and the Messenger had a water basin in front of him that he would drink and make abulution from. The people came to him weeping and he said: “What’s the matter with you?” They said: “We don’t have any water to drink or make abulution from except what is with you.”

So he placed his hand into the basin and water started to gush forth from between his fingers like springs, may peace and salutations be upon him. They said: “And so we drank and made abulution.” It was said to Jaabir, may Allaah be pleased with him: “How many of you were there?” He said: “If we were one-hundred thousand we would’ve  been sufficed. We were fourteen or fifteen-hundred in number.”[2]

  • The Messeneger, may peace and blessings be upon him, and his companions were on an expedition and they were in need of food. So he called for the remaining food they had and supplicated to Allaah to bless it. Then he commanded them to bring their containers. They filled all of them and there was still plenty left over. The Messenger of Allaah, peace be upon him, said at that moment: “I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except Allaah and I am the slave and messenger of Allaah. Whoever meets Allaah with certainty will enter Paradise.”[3]
  • He, may peace and blessings be upon him, used to have a tree stub that he would lean on when delivering the friday sermon. When he got a pulpit (and no longer needed the tree stub), it, i.e. the tree stub, began to cry loudly like a young child until the Messenger, peace be upon him, descended from the pulpit and consoled it like you would a child until it stopped. The Messeneger, peace be upon him, said: “If I did not console it, it would have continued to cry until the day of Resurrection.” [4]

A camel became defiant towards its’ owners. So the Messenger, peace be upon him, came and said to it: “Come here.” It came tranquily with its’ head lowered until he, peace be upon him, muzzled it and gave it back to its owner. Abu Bakr, may Allaah be pleased with him, said: “It’s as though it knows that you are a prophet O Mesenger of Allaah?” He, may the peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him, said: “There isn’t anyone between its two mountains except that they know I am a prophet except for the infidels amongst the jinn and mankind.”[5]

  • The Prophet, peace be upon him, healing the sick instantly. He wiped the leg of Jaabir, may Allaah be pleased with him, when he had broken his shin and he was cured instantly.[6] He spittled in the eyes of a blind man and right after he was given sight.[7]

Allaah, the Most HIgh, says:

“We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth. But is it not sufficient concerning your Lord that He is, over all things, a Witness? [41:53]”
