What are your religious aspirations?

In the name of Allah (The One). I send the peace and blessings upon his messenger (Al-Mustafa), upon his family, companions, and those who follow him in righteousness until The Day of Judgement (Yowm Al-Qiyaamah). To proceed:

[DISCLAIMER] : This was not translated to belittle or speak bad upon any of our scholars and/or students of knowledge. Rather I saw the reply of the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia to be beautiful and beneficial to myself and others. In which he did not mention the name of anyone but gave a general advice.

The caller (Hamdan from Jeddah) asks: “Oh Shaykh, we have a group that call to be upon Salafiyah and they curse the Du’at (callers to Allah) and Mashayikh (scholars). They curse Shaykh A’id Al-Qarni and Shaykh Salman Al-‘Awdah and some of them say that they (those previously mentioned) are misguided and misguide others. So, I would like a clarification for them. And the majority of them are from the students of Shaykh Rab’e Al-Madkhali.”

This is where Shaykh Abdul-Aziz Aali-Shaykh starts his wonderful advice: “Oh my brothers, I want for all of us to fear Allah and not focus on these type of things. If we knew of the prevalence of this then we would rush to correct it. But as for focusing and spreading these things to the pubic, then this is an affair that is not necessary. Because it is not necessary to be between the Muslims these libels and tendencies.

Oh my brothers, whoever wants the truth and uprightness than for him is his paths. And for whoever wants to slander and belittle than this person has his paths. Therefore, the student of knowledge doesn’t matter or busy himself with belittling this one and that one. Rather he busys himself with uprightness and calling to what is good. And all of us make mistakes and the best of people who make mistakes are those who repent [as taken from the Hadith of the Prophet ﷺ]. And not one of us is free from mistakes. Imam Malik said, “Every one of us can be rejected made rejected except for Muhammad ﷺ.” So none of us are free from mistakes but as for dividing the people, “This one is Salafi”, and, “that is Bid’ah (innovation)”, then this is not correct. And for all the brothers that spread knowledge we ask Allah [to grant] them Towfeeq (success), guidance, and longevity. And whoever feels his brother has mistaken then he should advice him and call him. And seek refuge in Allah from partisanship, making of groups, and [a word I didn’t understand].

Everyone has good in them. We remember the statement of Allah,

“Verily, those who divide their religion and break up into sects (all kinds of religious sects), you (O Muhammad ﷺ) have no concern in them in the least.” — Surah Al-An’am 6 : 159

And He [Allah] said,

“Of those who split up their religion (i.e. who left the true Islâmic Monotheism), and became sects, [i.e. they invented new things in the religion (Bid’ah), and followed their vain desires], each sect rejoicing in that which is with it.” — Surah Ar-Room 30 : 32

Thus, oh scholars and callers to Allah, it is necessary for every one of them that his goal to be calling to Allah. His goal being correcting the community and gathering the word [of Allah], strengthening the ranks, and gathering the broken. His goals are not to sink this Muslim community! Not calling to rushing to form the hearts and removing anything that distracts the thought. So that we can gather [upon] the word, make our voice one, and stand together as one hand against whoever wants to tear down our religion, our safety, and our stability, and our finances. As for busying ourselves with belittling each other, this one cursing that one and that one cursing this. All of these affairs do not service any goal or does not actualized any plan. And this is bad! It doesn’t achieve and praiseworthy plan.”

Then the host said: “Indeed! And here also our Shaykh I don’t see it being beneficial mentioning names.”

The Mufti said: “We are not in need of names. I say, these things are not necessary to corrupt the public. It’s necessary to rush to conceal it or if you see a mistake then call the person directly. But as for us on this program we do not need and know people. Rather our goal, Insha Allah (if Allah wills), is to guiding and working together. And we ask Allah to purify our hearts and action. Ameen”

And the peace and blessings are upon our prophet Muhammad, upon his family and companions.
