Entering Paradise due to a Sin?!

In the name of Allaah, the All-Forgiving, Full of Kindness. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and companions. As for what follows;

Sheikh Muhammad ibn Sa’eed Raslan, may Allaah protect him, mentioned in one of his friday sermons which is named ‘A sin that will enter you into Paradise!’:

“When Allaah intends good for His slave, he opens up for him the doors of repentance, humility, seeking forgiveness, supplication, seeking His assistance, sincere turning to Allaah, etc. Consequently, that sin he committed becomes the reason for him recieving the mercy of Allaah so much so that the enemy of Allaah, i.e. Satan, will say: “O I wish I would’ve left him alone and never incited him to commit that sin.” And this is the meaning of the statement of some of the Pious Predeccessors:

“Verily the slave will commit a sin and enter Paradise by it and enter Hell because of a good deed.” It was said: “How?!” They said: “Because he commits a sin but it doesn’t cease to be on his mind, fearing its consequences, extremely saddened because of it, humbled and ashamed in front of his Lord, regretful and broken hearted. Thus, that one sin is more effective for him than many righteous actions due to the aftermath of it, which by them, i.e. the aforementioned deeds, lies the success and happiness of the slave (in this life and the next) and like this he will enter into the Paradise on account of having committed a sin.

On the other hand, he performs a good deed however he doesn’t cease to consider it as a favor upon Allaah, arrogant by it and views himself as something significant and says: “I did this and that!” and is completely fascinated by it even though it will only bring about evil repercussions which will be the cause of his destrcution.

So if Allaah wishes good for this miskeen (despicable) individual he will afflict him with something that will break and humilate him, but if He wishes contrarily He’ll leave him in that state and this is the pinnacle of devastation for the slave.

The scholars have agreed that true success is that Allaah never leaves you to yourself while destruction is for Allaah to leave you to yourself.”
